Update from YourTeen: Happy new year! We’re trying a lot of new things with this newsletter this year, and we’re thrilled to have you following along!
Some ways the world celebrates New Year’s:
Spain: Eating twelve grapes at midnight, one for each stroke of the clock, is a tradition intended to bring good luck for each month of the coming year.
Brazil: In Brazil, especially in Rio de Janeiro, people dress in white for good luck and peace and often go to the beach to offer flowers to the sea goddess, Iemanjá.
Italy: Wearing red underwear on New Year's Eve is considered good luck. Lentils are also eaten after midnight – their round, coin-like shape symbolizes prosperity.
